Encinitans love their smoothies. That’s why we went straight to the source to determine which Juice Stop smoothie is the best.
“I like the Coach’s Choice,” says Robiane, a legal secretary who stopped in to take a break from shopping. “I guess I should be getting a fruit smoothie, but what can I say? I love chocolate.”
“I come here whenever I can for a Cross Cage smoothie,” says Jeff, a high school senior. “Dude. Watermelon.”
Five-year-old Colin has own opinions. “Double Axel!” He waves his smoothie at us. “It’s got raspberries!”
“No way. Slalom is the best!” says his twin sister Eva. “It’s got blueberries!”
Their mom shakes her head. “I’m more of an Off the Lip fan. I like coconut. Hat Trick is good, too. We’ve been coming here after looking at books at Barnes and Noble for oh, a couple of years.”
“Don’t ask me about smoothies,” says Rod as he leaves with his order. “I always get the 8 Vegetable Blend.”
“Amazon Cherry!” says Ben. “It’s got that Akai — Asigh — how do you say it again?” The gal behind the counter says, “Ah-sigh-ee.” Ben nods. “Yeah. It’s got that.”
